Martin "Marty" Richards

Marty was a founding board member whose friendship, guidance and support helped generate countless opportunities for the Broadway Walk of Stars Foundation.
His accomplishments, most notably for receiving a Best Picture Oscar for the lm “Chicago”, included many other theatrical productions. Marty produced theatrical events such as: “On the Twentieth Century,” Betty Comden, Adolph Green and Cy Coleman’s 1978 musical, which starred Kevin Kline, Imogene Coca, Madeline Kahn, Judy Kaye and John Cullum won ve Tonys; “Sweeney Todd,” Stephen Sondheim’s 1979 masterpiece, which won eight Tonys, including best musical; “La Cage aux Folles,” Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Herman’s musical farce which won six Tonys; “Grand Hotel,” a 1989 musical directed by Tommy Tune won ve Tonys; and “The Will Rogers Follies,” which won for best musical and best score. What an amazing career and what a wonderful friend. May he rest in peace.
